The new Specialized Roll (no relation to their older model of the same name) is a comfort oriented bike with a little more panache. Fat and smooth 650b tires (650b is an old wheel size that is making a comeback to the mainstream – it’s a little bit bigger than 26″) keep you rolling and the high volume acts sort of like suspension. It’s a nice feeling, to say the least. The bike stops nicely with mechanical disc brakes, and the high rise handlebars keep you upright. The saddle, which Specialized is calling “The Cup” was designed around this bike, and is supposed to be ridden with the nose up. It may seem weird at first, but it’s quite comfortable as soon as you start to pedal. We like this one more and more every time we take it for a ride.
