Open for kids of all ages. Take a slow cruise with us around Alameda, a different route every time, and end at Tucker’s Ice Cream for free ice cream. We’ll split up into two groups to ensure the proper pace for everyone, helmets required. Did we mention the free ice cream yet?
Here’s a few of the routes we take for our family rides:
In the last week we’ve pulled wires, thorns, staples, and a whole lot of glass out of Alameda’s tires. Do you know how to fix a flat if you end up stranded away from a shop?
Our flat tire clinic will cover how to remove your wheels, check for damage, install a new tube, and get everything back together again.
Join us and we’ll make sure you have the knowledge you need to keep riding!
Don’t be Afraid of Your Bike
Fourth Sunday of each month, 5:30-7pm
Haven’t mastered shifting? Wondering about the best way to use your brakes? Need a little guidance about when to lube your chain and what to fill your tires to? We’ll cover all of the important basics in this class. Show up with yourbike and your questions!
Every Wednesday, 6:30pm
Every Sunday,10:00am, except for the first Sunday of the month.
Because all of us need a little motivation to get started and keep it going. On Wednesdays, we meet at 6:15 and leave by 6:30. On Sundays, we meet at 9:50 and leave by 10:00. We’ll travel around at a 12-14 mph clip to keep the heart going at least 45 minutes to an hour non-stop. Sometimes the Sunday rides go a bit longer. A road bike or street hybrid is recommended.
Here’s a sampling of different rides we’ve done in the past:
We’ll help you get off training wheels, or learn how to ride a bicycle for the first time. Bring your bike, helmet, and a dash of courage — we’ll provide the rest. Parents should expect to stick around for the duration of the class.
This class is free (like all of our events), but it requires an RSVP.
